His chosen subject for his maiden speech was to rubbish Euroland. That delighted veteran fellow Tory MP and incurable Euro-baiter and mega-bore Bill Cash.

Helpfully Bill sent Mark a pile of documents as ammunition. A few days later a dozen more piles arrived bursting with Euro drivel.

In the weeks before Mark secured his place the avalanche of documents overwhelmed his office. Mark gave up. Even skim reading the vast piles was impossible.
